After returning to Earth, astronaut Lucy Cola (Natalie Portman) finds it hard to reconnect with her old life, including her husband (Dan Stevens), resulting in an affair with another astronaut (Jon Hamm). After a successful career in TV, Noah Hawley’s highly anticipated feature film debut as director was a disappointing drama inspired by the peculiar 2007 Lisa Nowak scandal. Portman is very good as a fictitious version of her, an unhinged NASA engineer, but getting under her skin remains hard throughout the story. Still, arresting visuals is a bonus.
