After leaving the army, James Harper (Chris Pine) joins a private firm and is sent on a mission to Germany that turns out to be different from what he was told. Well, that’s usually what happens in action-thrillers of this type; the second half of the film has Pine on the run from his former employer, then cooking up a plan to get back at them. Swedish director Tarik Saleh’s first American film tries to add a touch of realism to the portrait of veterans dealing with old injuries and financial distress; intense action at times, but the clichés stand out.
