48 HOURS OF TERRIFIC SUSPENSE AS NATURE GOES ON A RELENTLESS RAMPAGE OF DESTRUCTION!
At the same time as Father Doonan (Spencer Tracy) is being relieved of duty as head of the church at a Pacific island, and three convicts make a stop there, the islandās volcano is about to erupt. Itās been seen as a predecessor to the 1970s Irwin Allen disaster movies, this drama about the effort to save children at a hospital during a volcano eruption. On the whole it has little to offer, apart from explosive special effects that garnered a lot of attention. Slow, and neither Tracyās drunken priest nor Frank Sinatraās criminal with a heart of gold who falls for a blind girl are engaging enough.
