SIX STORIES. ONE HOPE.
Actor Don Cheadle co-produced and appears in this documentary as one of six people who have been touched by the humanitarian disaster in Darfur in different ways. The others are a UCLA graduate trying to raise awareness; a prosecutor working for the International Criminal Court in the Hague building a case against Sudan’s leaders; and three people who actually live or spend much time in Darfur, including a woman who has joined the rebel forces to fight the Janjaweed. The filmmakers show us how it is possible to make a difference on many levels, regardless if you’re a movie star with powerful friends or a regular student with no political ties. Ambitious, but too often does the film resemble an well-meaning infomercial.
2007-U.S. 98 min. Color. Written and directed byĀ Ted Braun.
Trivia: George Clooney and Arnold Schwarzenegger make appearances, along with prominent politicians like Hillary Clinton, John McCain and Sam Brownback.
