WHAT IF THIS GUY GOT YOU PREGNANT?
When a one-night stand leaves Alison (Katherine Heigl) pregnant, she and Ben (Seth Rogen) agree to have the baby and get to know each otherā¦ but heās not really ready to change his life.Ā Another overlong, profanity-laden but warm and funny film from the guy who brought usĀ The 40 Year Old VirginĀ (2005) ā and this one has a very serious agenda. It shows the travails of a young marriage (between Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann) and the relationship between people about to become parents ā itās not easy. The filmmakersā own experiences must have been the filmās foundation. Very nice performances by the leads. Funniest scene? The trip to Vegas.

Last word: “I didnāt set out to make the movie too Jew-centric, to create a word for this conversation. But Seth is a Jewish guy and all his friends are Jewish, at least the ones I cast in the movie, so I thought itād be funny that they talk about it, because itās truthful to their experience.Ā I didnāt set out to make any kind of statement like āYou can have five Jews in a movie.ā I think we saw that can be done in āTheĀ Chosen.ā But, if they were all some other religion, I would have had them talking about that. I didnāt want to shy away from it. I thought it was fun not to shy away from it. That these young Jewish guys are proud to be Jewish and they talk about āMunichā and their Jewfro style hairstyles and that itās all O.K. I think there is a classic clash in film comedy between Jewish guys and non-Jewish women trying to figure each other.” (Apatow, Collider)
