antitrustIt shares similarities with The Devilā€™s Advocate (1997), this story about Milo Hoffmann (Ryan Phillippe), a very clever (and uncharacteristically good-looking) computer geek who is hired by a huge corporation and its boyish, enthusiastic CEO who looks like Bill Gates. But itā€™s not a serious tale about attempts to monopolize the market, just a simplistic thriller about the quest for world domination. The formula is much too obvious, but the ending brings a positive message: The code belongs to everyone.

2001-U.S. 108 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed byĀ Peter Howitt. Cast: Ryan Philippe (Milo Hoffmann), Rachael Leigh Cook (Lisa Calighan), Claire Forlani (Alice Poulson), Tim Robbins (Gary Winston), Douglas McFerran, Richard Roundtree.
