TONIGHT, THEY’RE CALLING THE SHOTS.Â
Young New Jersey songwriter Violet Sanford (Piper Perabo) comes to the Big Apple to try her luck, but ends up working as a bartender in a very different bar. A movie that tries to be sexy and tough (symbolized by young women dancing on the bar) but can’t hide its saccharine nature. The story is just so cute and so is Perabo (even her name is irresistible!); that may be reason enough for young girls to cherish it, but this Flashdance/Cocktail wannabe needs a few surprises.Â
