WATCH WHO YOU LEAVE BEHIND.

Tortured A student Katie Burke (Katie Holmes) is running late with her thesis; the fact that she suddenly sees her missing boyfriend (Charlie Hunnam) all over the place is no help. You don’t have to be an A student to figure out that there will be a twist at the end of the film. That “surprise” does almost work to satisfaction, but the final scene comes across as cheap and sensationalist. That’s a shame when it’s coming from an Oscar-winning writer making his directing debut. Still, the movie benefits from its chilly atmosphere and a good performance by Holmes.
