YOU’LL LAUGH. YOU’LL CRY. YOU’LL HURL.
When Illinois rock fans Wayne and Garth (Mike Myers, Dana Carver) sell the rights to their amateurish TV show to a ruthless producer (Rob Lowe), their lives change. It would take a decade after Blues Brothers (1980) for a second Saturday Night Live skit to be developed into a whole film, but Wayne’s World became a huge hit and the beginning of Myers’s life as a movie star. A threadbare story is built around a simple premise; it’s up to the two leads to carry the movie, because not much else will. Fitfully amusing, as in the ”Bohemian Rhapsody” tribute.
