BASIC SWITCH. KILLER NEW LOOK.
Thanks to a dagger with supernatural powers, a serial killer (Vince Vaughn) switches bodies with a high-school girl (Kathryn Newton). An admittedly amusing new take on the Freaky Friday concept that looks like a perfect vehicle for Happy Death Day (2017) director Christopher Landon – this horror-comedy has the same kind of laughs and gory thrills. Vaughn is a hoot as a teen trapped inside a middle-aged male body, but Newton as the killer does little more than send evil stares. Ultimately, everything in the movie relies on old clichés.
