An operative (John David Washington) is working for an organization thatā€™s trying to stop World War III; inverted objects, clues from the future, keep popping up in the present. Christopher Nolanā€™s biggest disappointment to date echoes Memento (2001) and Inception (2010); this time he does what his critics have frequently accused him of. Muscular and visually impressive as always, but with a needlessly complicated plot that keeps us confused (even a little bored at times) and at armā€™s length emotionally from the characters.Ā
