AN UNFORGETTABLE TOUR OF THE CULINARY WORLD.
Making a documentary about Alain Ducasse, the French chef who has earned 21 Michelin stars, sounds like a perfect opportunity to delve into the life of an immensely successful person. Gilles de Maistre begins by explaining to his audience why this is a man who deserves to be worshipped. He follows the chef during a two-year journey where Ducasse prepares to open a new restaurant at the Palace of Versailles, travels all over the world (including visits to Mongolia, Brazil and Japan) and meets people like Prince Albert and French then-President Hollande. We also learn that Ducasse is dedicated to charity causes and healthier cooking. But as a film, this is unremarkable and servile.
