YOU CAN’T PINCH A DIAMOND WITHOUT STEALING A FEW HEARTS.
After losing all the money they invested for their pension plan, divorcees Richard and Kate Jones (Pierce Brosnan, Emma Thompson) intend to get back at the businessman responsible by stealing a $10 million diamond in his possession. The director reunited with Thompson after Last Chance Harvey (2008) for another comedy about men and women of a certain ageā¦ but thereās nothing mature about this one. The four stars are a delight, but the sunny, France-set heist is not remotely grounded in reality. What should be light and fun becomes just plain lazy.
