ALL THEY WANTED WAS A LITTLE GETAWAY. ALL THEY GOT WAS NOTHING BUT TROUBLE.
On their way to Atlantic City, financial publisher Chris Thorne (Chevy Chase), a lawyer (Demi Moore) and two wealthy Brazilian clients get stuck in the small town of Valkenvania where they end up in front of a 106-year-old judge (Dan Aykroyd)… Aykroyd’s directing debut was rejected by both critics and audiences. There’s nothing wrong with the cast, but perhaps Joe Dante could have made this horror-comedy (that echoes Psycho and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre) work better. Bizarre and noisy, but no laughs.
1991-U.S. 93 min. Color. Written and directed by Dan Aykroyd. Cast: Chevy Chase (Chris Thorne), Dan Aykroyd (Alvin ”J.P.” Valkenheiser/Bobo), John Candy (Dennis/Eldona), Demi Moore, Taylor Negron, Bertila Damas… Tupac Shakur.
Razzie: Worst Supporting Actor (Aykroyd).
