EVERYONE DESERVES A SECOND DANCE.
During her husband’s retirement party, Sandra Abbott (Imelda Staunton) learns that he’s been cheating on her with another woman for the past five years; her life in pieces, Sandra turns to her older sister (Celia Imrie) – who is nothing like her. A comedy-drama for older viewers in the vein of The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (2011), which also co-starred Imrie. A stellar cast turns a predictable story about love, dancing and making huge changes late in life entertaining, especially Timothy Spall as a man who’s dealing with his wife’s Alzheimer’s. There’s also time for a visit to Rome along the way; amusing and even a bit touching.
