The LAPD is operating in a world where humans co-exist with fantasy creatures; officer Daryl Ward (Will Smith) reluctantly partners up with an Orc (Joel Edgerton), but they fall victim to a conspiracy… Director David Ayer reunited with Smith after Suicide Squad (2016) for another messy action movie; this one premiered on Netflix. Much like Alien Nation (1988), it blends science fiction with a social message. Entertaining at first, with likable performances by Smith and Edgerton (in heavy makeup), but becomes loud, silly and dull.
