Don’t Knock Twice

Believing her friend was taken by a witch they conjured, teenager Chloe (Lucy Boynton) desperately looks up her mom (Katee Sackhoff), an artist whose drug addiction years ago sent Chloe to an orphanage. A horror movie that takes advantage of the old Slavic Baba Yaga myth, but turns the supernatural being into a witch who resides in a creepy old building next to a heavily trafficked road. Moderately engaging, with a few OK shocks thanks to Spanish horror star Javier Botetā€™s performance as the witch. Too much of it is mediocre though, with a weak ending.

2017-Britain. 93 min. Color. Directed byĀ Caradog James. Cast: Katee Sackhoff (Jess), Lucy Boynton (Chloe), Javier Botet (Mary Aminov/The Witch), Nick Moran, Jordan Bolger, Pooneh Hajimohammadi.
