Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) wakes up with memory loss in a Florence hospital and immediately has to start running from an assassin together with a doctor (Felicity Jones). The third movie about Langdon paid off financially, so thereā€™s no reason for Ron Howard to change the formula. Once again, Langdon has a puzzle to solve in the culturally most intriguing places of Europe and the director makes it an attractive ride. Shorter than its predecessors, the story still feels heavy-handed and convoluted. But Dan Brown has that one thing in common with Howard ā€“ lacking the incentive to change.

2016-U.S. 121 min. Color. Directed byĀ Ron Howard. Screenplay: David Koepp. Novel: Dan Brown. Cast: Tom Hanks (Robert Langdon), Felicity Jones (Sienna Brooks), Omar Sy (Christoph Bouchard), Ben Foster, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Irrfan Khan.
