AN AMERICAN DREAM.
22-year-old Miami Beach massage therapist David Packouz (Miles Teller) is looking to do something else when a friend from his boyhood years shows up; Efraim Diveroli (Jonah Hill) is now a successful arms dealer in need of a partner. A drama-comedy inspired by a Rolling Stone article about two twentysomethings striking it big during the Iraq War as contractors for the U.S. government, but failing to keep it up. An outrageous story (but still sadly believable) in the vein of Charlie Wilsonās War (2007) that also borrows a lot from Martin Scorsese. Entertaining, with an effective performance by Hill as the free-wheeling Efraim.
