War Dogs

wardogs22-year-old Miami Beach massage therapist David Packouz (Miles Teller) is looking to do something else when a friend from his boyhood years shows up; Efraim Diveroli (Jonah Hill) is now a successful arms dealer in need of a partner. A drama-comedy inspired by a Rolling Stone article about two twentysomethings striking it big during the Iraq War as contractors for the U.S. government, but failing to keep it up. An outrageous story (but still sadly believable) in the vein of Charlie Wilsonā€™s War (2007) that also borrows a lot from Martin Scorsese. Entertaining, with an effective performance by Hill as the free-wheeling Efraim.

2016-U.S. 114 min. Color. Widescreen. Produced byĀ Bradley Cooper, Todd Phillips. Directed byĀ Todd Phillips. Cast: Jonah Hill (Efraim Diveroli), Miles Teller (David Packouz), Ana de Armas (Iz), Bradley Cooper, Kevin Pollak, J.B. Blanc.

Trivia: Co-executive produced by Brett Ratner. Thatā€™s the real-life Packouz singing at a retirement home.
