The kind of documentary where the director turns himself into a leading character (in this film itās co-director Kip Andersen), running around with a camera to learn the truth, in this case about the impact that animal agriculture has on the environment, and why environmental organizations refuse to recognize it as the single biggest source of climate change. The film, which was crowdfunded, has a good idea at its core and itās baffling to see representatives of these organizations struggle to explain their stand. Various activists eloquently explain the benefits of a vegan lifestyle, which is what the filmmakers are committed to. However, the project would have had a greater impact with a sense of humor, and a dose of common sense ā 7 billion people are not going to become vegans.
2014-U.S. 91 min. Color. Directed byĀ Kip Andersen, Keegan Kuhn.
Trivia: After being shown at festivals, the film was re-cut, co-executive produced by Leonardo DiCaprio and premiered on Netflix.
