WHAT IS REAL?

In the future, when the Earth is divided into two habitable territories, factory worker Doug Quaid (Colin Farrell) is having strange dreams of being a secret agent… This remake of the 1990 film ditches the whole Mars setup of the original, but the really damning part is how the filmmakers abandon almost everything that made Paul Verhoeven’s work stand out, sufficing merely to flirt with ingredients that made it so much fun. What we get instead is a capable thriller with a few compelling action scenes, and Kate Beckinsale who seems to relish her villainous part.
