16 years after the identity of a serial killer is revealed, someone starts killing the seven kids who were born that night; did the Ripper’s soul survive? Echoing the director’s Scream franchise and Shocker (1989), this horror thriller set among teenagers lacks a sense of humor and actual thrills; we’re not even treated to a couple of amusing meta references. The young cast has nothing to contribute and the slashing is either strictly routine or too absurd to frighten anyone.
