Lonely New York City landlord Frank Zito (Joe Spinell) is actually a serial killer who cuts the hair off his female victims and brings the scalps home for his collection of mannequins. Women’s groups rallied against this horror movie that subsequently gained a cult reputation for Spinell’s full-throated performance as the killer and a few jaw-droppingly gory scenes, including one where a head is blown to pieces. But everything else in this schlock piece is cheap and boring.
