When a storm hits, a group of strangers are stranded in a big old house where a family was brutally killed 100 years ago. This cheap direct-to-DVD release has a director who lacks any knowledge of how to build tension ā it’s supposed to be a horror movie but every shock is bungled. The acting is about as lackluster as the story; Val Kilmer sleepwalks through it. Ving Rhames understands that his performance needs to be hammy, but doesn’t quite pull it off.
