WHEN THE LAST ANGEL FALLS, THE FIGHT FOR MANKIND BEGINS.
When God sends angels to destroy mankind, the Archangel Michael (Paul Bettany) falls to Earth and tries to save the humans from God’s wrath. The visual effects are of inferior quality, which is particularly damning in a few sequences that become unintentionally comical. The cast is fine, but Dennis Quaid is wasted as one of Michael’s protégées. All in all, this is nevertheless amusingly preposterous horror/action nonsense with a few nods to movies like The Terminator and Assault on Precinct 13.
2010-U.S. 104 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed by Scott Stewart. Cast: Paul Bettany (Michael), Dennis Quaid (Bob Hanson), Lucas Black (Jeep Hanson), Tyrese Gibson, Adrianne Palicki, Charles S. Dutton.
