WITH STUFF YOU’D NEVER SEE ON TV.
Jackass (2000-2002) was part of the transformation of MTV from a relevant music video network into an tepid home for a number of dumb-ass reality shows, some of them hits, some misses. This movie reunited the cheerful jackass gang for a host of new death-defying stunts, some of which are funny while others are just dumb or too gross for words. Either you’re a fan or not, it’s as simple as that. Brilliant opening shot of the guys in an oversized shopping cart… and Bam Margera’s parents are irresistible.
2002-U.S. 85 min. Color. Directed by Jeff Tremaine. Featuring Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Chris Pontius, Steve-O, Dave England, Ryan Dunn.
Trivia: Co-produced by Knoxville and Spike Jonze. Followed by three sequels, starting with jackass number two (2006), and a spinoff movie, Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa (2013).
Razzie:Â Most Flatulent Teen-Targeted Movie.
