PUTTING THE FUNK INTO THE DUNK.
1976, Flint, Michigan; one-hit wonder Jackie Moon (Will Ferrell) now has a struggling basketball team and serves as both coach and star player, but a new arrival on the team shakes things up. Ferrell reportedly said that this will be his last sports-related comedy. Let’s hope so, because I’m having a hard time separating them now. This one has every ingredient you’ve seen in his previous films; mildly amusing, and there are shades of Kingpin (1996) in Woody Harrelson’s performance… but nothing is fresh about the movie.
