IN 141 YEARS, THERE’S NEVER BEEN A TRAITOR IN THE SECRET SERVICE… UNTIL NOW.Ā
When an assassination plot against the U.S. President is revealed, veteran Secret Service agent Pete Garrison (Michael Douglas), whoās fooling around with the First Lady (Kim Basinger), becomes the prime suspect. At first this thriller kind of looks like In the Line of Fire (1993), but it soon turns into another standard Douglas vehicle. Itās very entertaining and well paced, and the star gives a solid performance, but the set-up is too preposterous and the traitorās identity comes as no great surprise. The women in the cast are thoroughly underused.
