DREAMER. REBEL. LEADER. BROTHER.
When President John F. Kennedy is murdered, his brother Robert (Linus Roache) works up the courage and confidence to become his own man and run for the U.S. Senate. It’s interesting to note that it wasn’t until his brother died that RFK seemed to find his place in life and the causes he would champion; this TV movie shows him battling with the spirit of JFK. Roache captures the vacillating nature of his character convincingly and, as expected, James Cromwell is a colorful LBJ, but ultimately this stab at analyzing a political icon doesn’t stand out in any way.
2002-U.S. Made for TV. 95 min. Color. Directed by Robert Dornhelm. Cast: Linus Roache (Robert F. Kennedy), James Cromwell (Lyndon Johnson), David Paymer (Dick Goodwin), Martin Donovan, Ving Rhames, Sean Gregory Sullivan.
