LOVE IS NO ORDINARY CRIME.
Architect Will Francis (Jude Law) chases a teenager who broke into his office all the way back to his home; without revealing his agenda to the boy’s mother (Juliette Binoche), Will embarks on an affair with her. Director Anthony Minghella’s last film is a low-key study of several people in London, focusing on the architect’s messy relationships with his wife and the Bosnian refugee who becomes his lover. The well-to-do gets to see the run-down part of King’s Cross; moral issues are raised with no simple answers. The acting is very good, but Minghella doesn’t really succeed at playing our heartstrings.
