Highschoolers Nick and Norah (Michael Cera, Kat Dennings) spend a night in New York City trying to find a drunk friend, an elusive indie band… and getting to know each other. Director Peter Sollett has likely seen Before Sunrise (1995) and Before Sunset (2004) once or twice; this charming teen comedy shares a few traits with Richard Linklater’s films. Definitely worth a look for people who love NYC and fans of the indie-band playlist that comes with the romance. Very likable, and that goes for the two leads as well; Cera’s performance may be utterly familiar, but perfect for this story.
