SOMETIMES YOU GO LOOKING FOR SOMETHING YOU WANTā¦ AND FIND WHAT YOU NEED.
Screwed-up actor/bartender Reese Holdin (Zooey Deschanel) is offered money to go back home to Michigan and talk her reclusive dad (Ed Harris), a brilliant novelist, into publishing his love letters to his deceased wife. Adam Rappās directing debut is a depressing, rather boring, wintry tale where nothing much happens. Everybody suffers, including the main character who wallows in her own misery to the degree that viewers are likely to grow tired of her. Will Ferrell is worth a look as a former member of a Christian rock band.
