Fever Pitch

Red Sox fan Ben Wrightman (Jimmy Fallon) starts dating successful businesswoman Lindsay Meeks (Drew Barrymore), but is initially reluctant to tell her just how big a deal baseball is to him. The Farrelly brothersā€™ remake of the 1997 British comedy changes sports and locations, but stays true to the tone and content of Nick Hornbyā€™s novel. Itā€™s something of a surprise to see such a family-friendly, sweet and mature film from the directors; Barrymore is effective and Fallon quite charming as the die-hard fan. Another positive ingredient is the dedicated portrayal of Boston and its favorite pastime.
