THE DOLPHIN HOTEL INVITES YOU TO STAY IN ANY OF ITS STUNNING ROOMS. EXCEPT ONE.
Mike Enslin (John Cusack), who writes books about haunted hotels (but doesnāt believe in ghosts), checks into The Dolphin Hotelās room 1408, a place where no guest has survived more than an hour.Ā Director Mikael HĆ„fstrƶm turns Stephen Kingās clever story into a very entertaining chiller. Some of the ghostly tricks played on Cusack are quite scary and the star makes great use of his likability; his character has a dry sense of humor, but is burdened by a great loss in his life. However, the film loses its way somewhat during the second half as the visual effects go overboard.
