FEARING IS BELIEVING.
Hospice worker Caroline Ellis (Kate Hudson) is hired to care for a stroke victim (John Hurt) in Louisiana, but begins to suspect that his wife (Gena Rowlands) is holding him prisoner. When the final twist is revealed in this atmospheric hoodoo (no, not voodoo) thriller, one canāt help but feel itās a damn shame. Because the twist works and itās better than what comes before it, which is a too-slow and conventional thriller. The acting is pretty good; Hurt doesnāt get to do much, but Rowlands is effective as the mysterious lady of the house.
