THE STORY OF A FAMILY THAT WANTED IT ALL. NEVER SETTLE.
Jean Hamilton (Heather Locklear) is being courted through letters by a “perfect” man, but doesn’t realize that her 16-year-old daughter (Hilary Duff) is behind it. Duff reunited with her Cinderella Story (2004) director for a romantic comedy that is surprisingly awful. Its attempts to be charming and funny come off as desperate. It is consistently hard to believe in these characters and their motivations, there are no good jokes and the whole concept is needlessly childish.
2005-U.S. 100 min. Color. Directed by Mark Rosman. Cast: Hilary Duff (Holly Hamilton), Heather Locklear (Jean Hamilton), Chris Noth (Ben Cooper), Mike O’Malley, Caroline Rhea, Carson Kressley.
