THE STRONGEST FORCE IN NATURE IS THE WILL TO SURVIVE.
Some time in the early 1960s, a group of teenage boys board the Albatross, a school ship captained by Christopher Sheldon (Jeff Bridges), to learn a few lessons about life. I have no idea what a director of Ridley Scottās caliber saw in this reality-based but predictable tale about troubled youngsters who find a father figure in Bridges and rise to the challenges of adulthood during a horrible storm. There are clichĆ©s aplenty and the ending is kind of embarrassing, but Scott still handles it all well. The story becomes fairly engaging after a while and Bridges is good as the controversial skipper.
