IN A PERFECT WORLD… THEY WOULD NEVER HAVE MET.

A cop (Harrison Ford) and a congresswoman (Kristin Scott Thomas) connect as they learn that their spouses, who were both killed in a plane crash, had a love affair. Director Sydney Pollack has made a movie for adults, but that’s not necessarily a good thing. It has the look of an important film and it portrays a romance that is seriously complicated… but some of its storylines are inconsequential, the romance lacks true passion and the leads are unable to shake this drama out of its seemingly medicated state.
