THE INCREDIBLE TRUE STORY OF A NATION IN CRISIS.Ā
In March, 1981, President Ronald Reagan was shot and wounded by a disturbed man, an event that surprisingly resulted in Secretary of State Alexander Haig taking charge at the White House. With Oliver Stone as executive producer, one shouldnāt blindly believe everything that happens onscreenā¦ still, there is something amusing about watching a bunch of old men in suits bicker over who should run the country. The hot-tempered general Haig is portrayed to perfection by Richard Dreyfuss, and Richard Crenna does look a bit like Reagan. The political crisis is depicted in a way that resembles a black comedy, which is a deft move.
