ILLUSION. DECEPTION. MURDER. IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE THINGS ARE NOT WHAT THEY SEEM.
Blind violinist Emma Brody (Madeleine Stowe) has her sight restored but then witnesses a murder committed by someone who knows her identity. This is too much of a blind-woman-in-jeopardy type of thriller (along the lines ofĀ Wait Until Dark (1967)), with a clichĆ©d story and a central romance that slows everything down. Thankfully, Stowe is believable and likable as the musician with a childhood trauma. Thereās also a clever, useful plot invention ā a post-surgery condition that makes the protagonist experience delayed reactions.Ā
1994-U.S. 106 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed byĀ Michael Apted. Cast: Madeleine Stowe (Emma Brody), Aidan Quinn (John Hallstrom), Laurie Metcalf (Candice), James Remar, Peter Friedman, Bruce A. Young.
