BEHIND EVERY GREAT MAN IS A WOMAN… WISHING HE’D GET THE HELL OUT OF HER WAY.
Laurel Ayres (Whoopi Goldberg) realizes that there is no place for a woman on Wall Street… so she turns herself into Robert Cutty, a male, white successful businessman. Another mediocre comedy from Whoopi, a remake of a French film, LāAssocie (1979). Sheās alright as long as sheās Laurel, but when she turns into Cutty she can barely move her head because of all the unbelievable makeup. Not much is funny about this predictable take on the glass ceiling that faces many women, but Dianne Wiest and Austin Pendleton make a cool team.Ā
