ATTITUDE MEETS ESPIONAGE.
I spy with my own eye a fat paycheck for Eddie Murphy but zilch for the audience. This movie version doesnāt care one iota about the classic, campy 1965-1968 TV show. Only thing remaining is the concept with a spy (Owen Wilson) and a civilian (Murphy) who becomes his ally, fronting as a boxer; together they go after an arms dealer (Malcolm McDowell) who has stolen a prototype for a new stealth plane. It takes many action scenes to liven it up when the spying is this uninspired and the comedy this witless.
