THE BIGGEST FIGHT OF HIS LIFE.
Famous action-movie star Jean-Claude Van Damme, who’s in the middle of an ugly custody fight, returns to Belgium only to find himself involved in a postal robbery. Van Damme’s chance to show the world that there’s more to him than simply being “the muscles from Brussels”; I guess he can’t dropkick bad guys forever. It turns out that he’s actually a rather compelling figure, delivering a performance as a tragic version of himself that is well worth a look. The director has fun with the star’s traditional on-screen persona, but the robbery is the least engaging part.
