YOU’LL NEVER FEEL SAFE IN YOUR HOME AGAIN.
Clémentine (Olivia Bonamy), a French teacher, and her boyfriend (Michaël Cohen) live temporarily in Romania; one night they’re harassed by a group of shady creatures. The Americans are not the only ones making horror movies where innocent people are terrorized in Eastern European countries. A sordid concept, but the filmmakers do a good job of intimidating us here; we don’t get a real grip on who the creatures are until the end and it’s interesting to see how easily we let the darkness defeat our common sense. Still, the final explanation makes some of the preceding scenes too unbelievable.
